A Day at the HIV/AIDS Centre

“AIDS would have claimed fewer lives if we had publicly recommended what I wish to call ‘The Presumption of Sickness,’ i.e., the principle that whomever we are about to sleep with is HIV-positive until proven HIV-negative.” ― Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Community and Public health encompasses all aspects of medicine that involve the community as a whole. As such, I spent the first few weeks along with my colleagues visiting various centers and services throughout New Providence.

We spent two days touring the HIV/AIDS Centre at the Royal Victoria Gardens grounds. And a few other days in the community clinics working with Clinicians who specialize in Infectious Diseases.

Below are just some photos of the instruments used for testing at the Reference Laboratory.
